The Italian restaurant, Centro, opened in July 2023 in Gosho Nishi, a quiet residential area. Chef Tanaka who trained at Kyoto’s famous Taverna Il Viale restaurants is in charge of the food, while his wife, who also used to be a chef, is in charge of service. His specialties include tasty local dishes such as panelle, Sicilian fritters made with garbanzo flour, and Tuscan stewed tripe. You can order as many dishes that pique your interest as you want à la carte, which is another reason why customers keep coming back. After enjoying the antipasto and pasta, you should try the acqua pazza, made from today’s fish and finished simply with clam jus, dried tomatoes, and capers, for \1,650. The delicious sea bream and black rockfish delivered by the wholesale brokers of long-standing will surely get the wine flowing.
