Experience the joy of sharing a seafood paella with your friends
Cooking that brings out the taste of the ingredients and a love for everyday meals. This is the food culture that Mr. Hirooka, owner/chef of Poquito, fell in love with when he visited Spain. And in 2005, he decided to open a Spanish bar in his hometown of Kyoto. The blackboard menu chock full of favorites such as seasonal carpaccio, ajillo, and frito will surely get the adrenaline going. The name of the bar, “Poquito,” means “a little bit” in Spanish and it is guaranteed to satisfy your small cravings for “a little bit more to eat,” “a little bit more to drink,” and “staying and talking a little bit longer.” The inviting seafood paella for \3,000, which pairs perfectly with the wine, is just right for such a fun evening. The seafood fresh from the market, including Japanese littlenecks, mussels, clams, and shrimp paints a gorgeous picture in the paella pan and the aroma wafting from underneath the flower petals is just as enticing.
The bar has big and small counters. You will be comfortable anywhere you sit. The artistic partitions were designed by Mr. Hirooka’s friend and cabinetmaker.
