Otabi-cho Tagoto
御旅町田ごと
Major ingredients purchased at the market
Vegetables, fruits, and seafood
Hospitality offering flavors that luxuriously incorporate the seasons’ blessings
Pass through the cobble-stoned entrance which has been purified with the sprinkling of water and you will enter a space far removed from the bustle of the city and full of the ambiance of Kyoto. The chef/owner goes to the market every day and checks out the fresh seafood and vegetables with his own eyes. Otabi-cho Tagoto offers bento boxes and kaiseki-ryori that take advantage of the abundance of seasonal ingredients. The sashimi platter which combines sea bream, toro (fatty tuna), and prawn is extremely fresh, and the types of fish used will change according to the season. The famous Kouetsu Mizusashi-Bento (lunch box) is a masterpiece that uses the tea utensils used by Edo-period tea master Kouetsu as a serving dish to beautifully arrange the ingredients.
The restaurant provides private dining rooms where you can enjoy your meal as you relax and view the small garden and a great hall that can be used for banquets and business dinners.
