A new type of café where you can enjoy “wagashi (Japanese confectionary)-like meals”
A café by “Sasaya Iori,” a traditional Japanese confectionary shop established more than 300 years ago. Sasaya Iori Bettei offers a never-before-seen, special menu with the theme of “wagashi (Japanese confectionary)-like meals.” The menu is full of dishes that use the ingredients for Japanese confectionary, such as Domyoji Tomato Risotto, which is made from domyoji-ko (glutinous rice flour) used in making sakuramochi (cherry blossom sweet rice cakes). The special curry full of vegetables that let you taste the real umami of the ingredients uses an array of seasonal vegetables. Every time you visit the café you can enjoy a different flavor, as the vegetables purchased will vary by season.

The shop evokes the traditional inner parlors of the Edo period. You can buy limited-line items that you cannot find anywhere else.
